Through scouting activities, community projects, and shared experiences, our members learn that service is more than an action — it is a way of life guided by values, responsibility, and care for others. With every good deed and every helping hand, we strive to be a light that brings hope, unity, and positive change to the world around us.
Who We Are
Scouts & Guides Wadi El Nil is a Christian educational movement dedicated to developing young Egyptians into responsible leaders and engaged citizens. Through outdoor adventures, practical training, and community service, we nurture intellectual, physical, spiritual, and social capabilities across all age groups—from curious six-year-olds to committed young adults.
For three-quarters of a century, SGWEN has been Egypt’s beacon of youth development, grounded in timeless scouting values and adapted for modern challenges. We believe every young person deserves the opportunity to discover their potential, develop their character, and contribute meaningfully to society.

Whether your child is six or sixteen, there’s a program designed to inspire, challenge, and develop their unique gifts.
Beaver
Age: 6-8 Years
Merges existing Baraem (buds) with the international Beaver Scouts framework
Focus: Foundational skill development through play-based learning
Cubs & Brownies
Age: 8-11 Years
Where adventure begins. Cubs explore, play, and learn through games, nature adventures, and building lasting friendships.
Weekly meetings with games and challenges – Monthly outdoor adventures – Seasonal camps and sleepovers – 40+ hobby and skills badges
SCOUTS & GUIDES
Age: 11-16 Years
The heart of scouting. Scouts master outdoor skills, take on leadership roles, and discover their potential through adventure and service.
Skilled-based progression system – Leadership responsibilities and roles – 15+ camping and expedition opportunities yearly – 40+ specialty skill badges available
ROVERS
Age: 17+ Years
Where young leaders lead. Rovers mentor younger scouts, lead community projects, and develop advanced leadership capabilities.

Scouts Shop
The SGWEN Scouts Store is the official source for uniforms, badges, equipment, and essential scouting materials for all members of Scouts and Guides Wadi El Nil. The store supports scouts, leaders, and families by providing easy access to the items needed for activities, camps, and ceremonies, ensuring that every member is well prepared and proudly represents the movement.
More than just a shop, the Scouts Store helps support the mission of SGWEN by contributing to the sustainability and development of scouting programs and activities.
